We did it!

Congratulations everyone for making it onto the blog.

Our last session was extremely productive and Mr G and I were so proud of how well you worked.

For today’s session we will need to listen to a story.

Listen to the story and think about what is happening.

Use the Herald Sun website to research information about the current floods in Australia.

Your comment today is to be based on your research. You need to write any interesting information that you find. What has surprised you about the floods?

Remember to log in using your cases code and your password that you use to get onto the computer. Also remember that you write your comment in a Word document first before you copy and paste it into the comment section on the blog.

Use the grade 6’s to help you.

Happy Writing 🙂

Welcome DME and DMF!

Welcome to the DME and DMF 2013 blog!

This blog is to be used as an online Writer’s Notebook. On this page I will set tasks for you to complete.

Next term we will be creating our own individual blogs.

This term is about getting used to logging on and writing detailed and informative posts on our class blog.

The first task for you today is to post a comment on this blog. Use the grade 6’s as mentors to show you how. One of the most important tasks is for you to make sure what you are posting actually makes sense and that your spelling is accurate. To write a comment for the post you must always open a word document. You will write your comment, re-read and check it all in Word BEFORE you copy and paste it onto the blog.

Your comment today is a story. You will use this website:http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/

to find a story starter. Then you will write a short story and post it on the blog. Be as creative as possible. We are looking forward to reading your writing.

Also if you happen to think of a good name for our blog please let me know.

Happy Writing 🙂
